Frosted Back Rainbow Trout Christmas Ornament, 2 1/2 x 5 inches.  Made of glass and mica from the Noble Gems by KSA holiday collection.

This excellent fish ornament features a fish with it's tail curved and makes an excellent gift idea for the fishing enthusiast in your life.  It has rainbow trout coloring, , aka steelhead or ocean trout, with the typical black spots, is frosted and sprinkled with iridescent glitter on the back, tail and top of the fins plus it includes a gold string for hanging on a tree.  Rainbow trout have both salt water and freshwater varieties, the salt water variety is called steelhead or ocean trout, and like salmon, they are hatched in freshwater, spend most of their life in coastal ocean salt water, then return to freshwater to spawn.  That makes this ornament a wonderful addition to any ocean, river or lake collection.  All sides of this ornament are nicely detailed. Note: The hole on the bottom of the tail is normal and part of the blown glass manufacturing process.  (New 2019)
