Description
Ballerina doing the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy Christmas Ornament, 6 1/2 inches (per KSA). Made of resin and fabric from the Kurt S. Adler (KSA) holiday collection. (Added 2022)
This lovely design features a young lady with sheer light pink fairy wings which sparkle with iridescent glitter and a pink dress with a multi-layer fabric skirt with pink flower and silver leaf embellishments. Depending on what interpretation you have experienced, from the play to the Disney film, the Sugar Plum (or Sugarplum) could be the symbols of dreams or a villain. In the play she represents the transformation from the struggles of childhood to a symbol or success or dreams coming true. In the ballet Clara transforms into the Sugar Plum Fairy via this dance. In the Disney version she is an antagonistic, manipulative villain. One dance with opposite symbolism. All sides are wonderfully detailed and each includes a gold ornament string.
