Description

Chili Pepper Light Covers for Mini Light Sets. 2 3/4 inches. Colors available: Yellow & White (colors no longer available:  Green, Purple, Turquoise, Coral Pink, Red, and Blue.)  MADE IN THE USA.

updated 6/24/21 - Sorry, the original manufacturer and the employee who tried to create a new business with this item both went out of business.  We were contacted by a 3rd company who expressed an interest in creating this item however we have not heard from that company in two months.  We will be removing all colors not in stock on or around 7/1/21 unless we locate a supplier by that time.

Fits onto most mini Christmas light sets. They have a rubberized texture. If you wish to order more than the available quantity please contact us.

BLUE AND WHITE - The blue and white colors are more solid versus translucent, not as much light from a bulb shows thru them.

Important:  Color and visibility thru the cover will vary by the light set used.  The lights used for pictures are Holiday Time Warm Light LED Mini (long tube) Lights.  Some lights are more white while others more yellow and the brightness of the lights vary too.

Mix and match colors for Christmas, Southwest, Mardi Gras and even patriotic Red, White and Blue themed events.

NOTE: These covers are designed for the traditional NON-LED mini light sets. It may work for a LED light strand IF the bulb shape is very similar to the standard non-LED fixture.

    Wonderful to find these

Posted by Steve on 27th Sep 2020

I was really pleased to find these sold individually and to have a choice of which colors and how many to buy. We've had chili lights for years and they've come to be a sentimental item for us. And I'm really impressed with Christmas in Prescott's customer service -- fast, responsive, and communicative. The price for these as replacements is great, and we had them up just a few days after ordering. One thing buyers might want to be aware of is that if you do have older lights and are used to the way they might have looked, these plastic pods are more translucent than opaque like some other pods are (like our old ones) . Depending on the kind of lights you'll put them on, they may look a little different than you expect. Our original lights were softer incandescents that have a yellowish tone inside the old pods. We've switched out for "bright white" LEDs and that changes the look of our old lights and highlights the difference between opaque and translucent pods. Even though we only have three colors of pods (red, green, yellow), it looks more like six different colors. We like that look a lot , but be aware that with our lights (which are Amazon Basics bright white LEDs), the red looks a bit like magenta, the green a little bluish, and the yellow almost a whitish green, like a banana pepper. If that's a consideration, you might need to go with a softer and probably incandescent bulb.

    Chili Pepper light covers

Every year I get a few more to brighten my tree. However, last year I noticed some were getting sticky. So this year, before I packed 2019 decorations up I washed the sticky ones in Dawn dish soap. They soaked for about 15 minutes, rinsed and put in the dishwasher racks to dry. The prongs are very handy for this task. Voila! Turned out perfect.

(From Christmas in Prescott - Sorry about that, we noticed some of our Turquoise color from 2018 were a bit sticky after a while - the inventory received in late 2019 and 1st shipment in 2020 do not appear to have the same issue)
