This burrowing animal lives a large family units, often 20 - 50 members, and look like a cross between a prairie dog and a ferret - though they are not related to either.  They are found in the southern desert areas of the South Africa continent. This ornament features one sitting upright on a patch of grass for a better view and does a great job of not only depicting their appearance but also their inquisitive character.  It has excellent coloring right down to the black patches around the eyes.  All sides are nicely detailed. It is made of blown glass, delicately hand-painted and has sparkly glittered accents.
